Millions of displaced people live under the fragile, pain-filled roofs of tents. Every thread of their tents tells a tragic story, a testament to unimaginable suffering. The biting cold in winter and the scorching heat in summer have become their constant companions.
Ulfah is building a new future for 274 displaced Syrian families through its humanitarian project to construct a fully equipped residential village in northern Syria, providing dignified and safe housing for families.
Under the burden of war and displacement, millions of Syrians live in fragile and dilapidated tents, unable to protect them from weather fluctuations. In this tragic reality, displaced people search for safe shelter and a dignified life.
At a time when many were disheartened by the challenges of displacement and homelessness, Ulfah launched an initiative to build a residential village. This initiative provided a practical and tangible solution to help the displaced by building 274 fully equipped homes for dignified living. Today, over 2,000 people belonging to 274 families live in the Malaysian Village.Their lives have fundamentally changed; they have moved from a life of misery and displacement to a life of stability and security.
In a step towards building a better future, Ulfah moved displaced families from camps to their permanent homes in the new residential village. This step is the beginning of a new life, full of hope and optimism for over 274 families.
Ulfah built a sustainable community, not just homes. Their integrated vision includes:
Ulfah Kindergarten, welcoming over 70 children; Ulfah School, educating 1,000 students; a two-story Mosque, accommodating 400 worshippers; and a Health Center, providing free primary healthcare to all residents.
To provide a healthier and safer life for the displaced who have suffered greatly from the spread of diseases like diarrhea and cholera due to contaminated water and lack of sanitation, Ulfah drilled wells to provide clean drinking water and established a sanitation network, which contributed to improving the quality of life and protecting the health of the displaced.
Anticipating a better future, Ulfah significantly improved residents’ quality of life by building a 100,000-liter water tank. This tank, powered by solar energy for pump operation, ensures sustainable water services. This strategic investment guarantees a continuous supply of clean water and bolsters community resilience against future challenges.
The success of the Malaysian Village is a beginning, not an end. While the displaced celebrate their new homes, the need remains urgent to provide more homes for other families awaiting the opportunity to build a new life.
We have an opportunity to change the lives of thousands of families living in difficult humanitarian conditions. Every home we build is the beginning of a new life, and every donation is an investment in a more stable future. We are all partners in this humanitarian cause, and each one of us can make a difference, no matter how small. Let us extend a helping hand to the displaced and provide them with safe shelter, for every donation is a message of love and solidarity with these innocent people.
