Many developing countries face severe humanitarian crises causing suffering to millions of people. Nigeria is one of the countries whose population suffers from extreme poverty and a lack of basic resources, threatening their lives and livelihoods.
Ulfah is making diligent efforts to improve living conditions in impoverished areas of Nigeria by implementing multiple projects aimed at enhancing livelihoods and providing them with a dignified life.
Nigeria is considered one of Africa’s most populous countries, yet it faces significant challenges related to poverty and deprivation. Millions of people live in poor living conditions, with many suffering from a lack of basic services such as food, education, clean water, and healthcare.
The widespread extreme poverty in Nigeria represents a severe humanitarian crisis that calls for the intervention of relief organizations. Recognizing this suffering and striving to alleviate it as much as possible, Ulfah has taken the initiative to provide practical and sustainable solutions
to improve the lives of those in need,
through its diverse projects such as drilling wells
and building mosques and educational centers.
The number of beneficiaries from these projects
has exceeded “100,000” beneficiaries. Through
these projects, Ulfah seeks to provide basic needs
for poor communities and build a better future
for coming generations.
To boost community religious life, Ulfah dedicated 1.5 hectares for a mosque and Islamic institute, benefiting over 1,000 worshippers and students. For 10 years, Ulfah also provided monthly allowances to boarding students, fostering a stable learning environment and enabling academic excellence.
Facing Nigeria’s water scarcity, Ulfah drilled 13 wells with pumps and networks, providing clean water to over 13,000 people (3,250 families). This initiative marked a turning point, ensuring a reliable water source and significantly improving community living conditions.
In a step to promote social cohesion and support students, Ulfah organized a series of communal Iftar tables for students of knowledge in Nigeria. This aimed to strengthen social bonds among them and provide them with moral support during the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative contributed to creating a positive atmosphere that motivates learning and good deeds.
Amidst the humanitarian crisis that Nigeria is experiencing due to famines, “Ulfah Organization” hastened to extend a helping hand to impoverished Nigerian families by distributing sacrificial meat to more than “5,000” families, which contributed to alleviating their suffering and providing them with a complete meal. This initiative reflects Ulfah commitment to supporting those in need during times of crisis.
Ulfah secured the future of over 200 students by covering ten years of school rent, then purchasing the building as a permanent home. This ensures continuous education based on the correct Sunni methodology, protecting future generations. The school has already graduated over 372 Quran memorizers, scholars, and Islamic callers, who have spread knowledge and transformed lives.
In response to community needs, Ulfah acquired 5 hectares in Nigeria. 3.5 hectares are dedicated to a new cemetery with 1,700 graves, meeting health and environmental standards. This project facilitates proper Islamic burials, upholding Ulfah commitment to supporting religious practices.
Ulfah Organization's projects in education, health, and food, which have benefited thousands of people, are proof that humanitarian work can bring about fundamental changes in the lives of local communities. By providing educational centers, drilling clean water wells, and securing food for families, Ulfah contributes to building a brighter future for Nigeria.
