Our Projects in GAZA

Gaza... A Wound That Barely Heals

Gaza faces a dire humanitarian crisis, imperiling 2.4 million lives. Famine and disease threaten civilians living in harsh conditions. Intense bombing and fighting have displaced over 1.8 million people—80% of the population—making the Strip’s humanitarian situation tragically unsafe.

Ulfah works tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of Gaza’s residents through humanitarian projects that cover a wide range of their daily needs and mitigate the effects of the war on them.

For years, Gaza has suffered from a severe humanitarian crisis resulting from continuous Zionist violations and the siege imposed on its people, leading to a severe shortage of food, water, and healthcare. Children suffer from malnutrition, while the elderly and women live in constant fear of dying from hunger or killing. The magnitude of the humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip calls for urgent action, so Ulfah hastened to meet the pressing humanitarian needs of thousands of families. This was done by providing humanitarian aid to more than 54,706 people before the last aggression.

However, this number quickly doubled and increased significantly after October 7th, reaching 330,773 beneficiaries, distributed across a diverse package of over “20 projects,” bringing the total number of beneficiaries to more than 385,479 people in southern and northern Gaza. These huge numbers confirm the scale of humanitarian suffering in the region and the magnitude of the effort Ulfah is making to provide the necessary relief.

Meal Provisions Alleviate the Suffering of the Besieged

Ulfah confronted Gaza’s escalating food crisis by urgently providing 276,000 hot meals to the besieged, benefiting 1,380,000 people. Umm Muhammad, a beneficiary, shared, “Thanks to the daily meals, I could feed my children after our difficult situation in the camps.” This crucial aid addressed immediate needs and alleviated immense suffering.

Warm Winter and Safe Shelter

Ulfah distributed 260 warm blankets and winter clothing to 700 women and 100 children, protecting them from harsh cold. Additionally, 103 fully equipped tents sheltered over 500 displaced individuals. Ulfah efforts aim to alleviate suffering and provide safe refuge amidst challenging conditions.

Financial Rewards for the White Hands (Humanitarians)

As part of its support for volunteer work, Ulfah provided financial assistance to humanitarian volunteers from Gaza residents:
To 311 workers in appreciation of their efforts in serving the community.
20 ambulance drivers: Ulfah showed great appreciation for ambulance drivers by providing them with financial support.
Supporting 73 people by providing them with cash assistance.

Loaf of Life" Project: The Hope of the Poor in Crises

Amidst Gaza’s dire humanitarian crisis, Ulfah “Loaf of Life” project provides vital sustenance. Initially, 48,000 bread bundles reached 328,000 people. Following recent aggression, Ulfah doubled efforts, distributing over 17,000 bread bundles to 16,600 families, providing crucial support amidst devastating conditions for over 2 million people.

Building Small Bakeries: A Step Towards Sustainability

To enhance sustainability, Ulfah moved to support families by building small bakeries to provide greater benefit to the afflicted. Ulfah built 6 bread ovens to provide 280 families with the ability to produce their own bread. Despite the great challenges, Ulfah has been able to achieve tangible accomplishments in providing food security for those in need.

Food Baskets: An Urgent Response to Poverty Challenges

Faced with high poverty in Gaza, Ulfah launched a food basket campaign, distributing 11,500 baskets to at least 57,000 people. Before October 7th, 500 baskets were distributed. During the recent aggression, 11,000 baskets entered via Rafah, each providing a month’s sustenance (flour, sugar, rice, dates, oils, canned goods, formula) to 55,000 people across southern and northern Gaza.

Vegetable Baskets: Nutritional Support for Family Health

7,350 vegetable baskets were distributed to Gazan families because healthy food is the basis of physical health. At Ulfah, we were keen to provide fresh vegetables rich in vitamins and minerals for children, women, and the elderly in Gaza. After the long war, this nutritional support has become more important than ever due to its essential nutritional elements for health.

Providing Water to Enhance Healthcare

To alleviate Gaza’s humanitarian crisis, Ulfah launched a healthcare initiative. They provided vital water for kidney patients and secured 223,500 liters of drinking water via tankers, benefiting 7,232 people. This eased the burden on displaced individuals seeking clean water, protecting them from disease and improving public health.

Establishing Medical Tents to Treat the Sick

To provide a safe and suitable environment for receiving healthcare, Ulfah established two medical tents to provide the necessary healthcare to civilians affected by the war, which contributed to alleviating pressure on damaged health facilities and providing treatment to more than 6,000 people.

Eid Joy: We Paint Pictures of Joy with Colors of Resilience

Ulfah continued its humanitarian journey by providing aid in Gaza City during Eid al-Adha, bringing joy to the hearts of children and their families through:

Distribution of Sacrificial Meat: The Eid Sacrifice project contributed to bringing joy to the hearts of more than 2,500 families, especially in light of the difficult conditions experienced by the displaced.

Eid Sweets: Ulfah distributed 2,200 portions of sweets, to bring joy and happiness to the hearts of children and their families amid the difficult circumstances they are experiencing.
Children’s “Eidiya” (Eid Gift): Amid the siege and war, Eidiya is considered a ray of hope that illuminates children’s lives and reminds them that there are those who care for them and seek to make them happy.

A Smile Drawn by Knowledge and Pens

To support Gaza’s children, Ulfah provided 200 school bags pre-aggression. During the conflict, they honored 50 female Quran memorizers, distributed gifts to 2,150 children to bring joy, and offered 350 free haircuts, boosting comfort and confidence. These efforts aim to enhance well-being and education.
