With pride and gratitude, we showcase Ulfah’s humanitarian journey in distributing food baskets to the needy and impoverished. Food is a basic human need, and depriving people of food has been used as a tool of pressure between warring factions.
Ulfah is an effective partner in efforts to combat hunger in many developing countries, working to enhance food security and contribute to building more sustainable communities.
Amidst war and disaster, Ulfah launched an urgent food basket relief campaign. Providing monthly sustenance (flour, sugar, rice, dates, oils, canned goods, formula), it began in northern Syria’s camps, expanding to Yemen and Gaza. This initiative brings hope and essential aid to affected families.
Northern Syria: Rising poverty rates and food insecurity in the camps prompted Ulfah to launch a food basket distribution campaign, where the total number of distributed baskets reached 4,125 baskets, which contributed to providing basic food for at least 15,000 people.
Hadramout: In response to the urgent need for food in the city, we provided 500 food baskets that were distributed to affected families, with the number of beneficiaries reaching approximately 2,500 people during 2024.
Ulfah significantly aided Gaza. Prior to the recent aggression, 500 food baskets helped over 2,500 people. During the conflict, efforts surged, with 11,000 baskets entering via Rafah, benefiting over 60,000 people in southern and northern Gaza.
With this wide reach, the organization has exceeded the one million beneficiary mark in recent years in Syria, Yemen, and Gaza, thanks to its specialization in supporting the food sector and striving to bring happiness to the hearts of those in need.
The high cost of living and lack of employment opportunities resulting from wars and conflicts have led to a food gap in hot spots. Because we seek to alleviate the burden on the poor, we at Ulfah have directed our efforts towards meeting the basic food needs of these families who cannot secure their daily sustenance.
