With every winter, the cold and frost claim the lives of children in camps. Fierce winds uproot their tents, and floods submerge them. In the face of this tragedy, Ulfah launches a winter campaign every year to warm their hearts and provide the warmth and protection they deserve.
Ulfah is one of the organizations that plays a pivotal role in responding to winter, by providing urgent aid and sufficient support to those in need.
Displaced people struggle for long hours searching for any source of heat to warm their children. The cold forces them to collect sticks, straw, and plastic in primitive ways, which puts their lives at risk. In the face of this humanitarian suffering, Ulfah quickly launched the “Winter Heating” project in 2018, and since then, the project’s campaigns are renewed every year, bringing warmth and hope to entire families.
Ulfah campaign has achieved great successes, providing hundreds of tons of heating materials, including (firewood, pyrine, mazut, and blankets). Ulfah did not only provide basic heating materials, but also distributed more than 5,000 heaters to the poorest families, which significantly improved their living conditions
Education is the cornerstone of progress, and out of our keenness to provide a stimulating educational environment for our students, Ulfah provided 5,000 liters of mazut to educational centers in the city of Al-Bab as a contribution to supporting the educational process.
Amidst the escalating humanitarian crisis in northern Syria, which intensified with the arrival of winter, Ulfah winter aid reached thousands of displaced families in (Azaz, Al-Bab, Idlib, Jarabulus, and Ras al-Ayn). The number of beneficiaries of heating materials reached more than 100,000 people in these areas.
Many fathers lost their livelihoods due to forced displacement in early 2017, making it extremely difficult to secure basic necessities for their children. Ulfah responded to this humanitarian appeal by meeting the needs of more than 1,000 displaced families by distributing winter clothing to approximately 5,000 children.
Ulfah mission has not been easy, as with the increasing number of displaced people and the exacerbation of camp crises, the demand for aid and necessary support to provide a dignified life for these afflicted people has increased. But thanks to the determination of Ulfah team and the solidarity of philanthropists and supporting bodies, the organization has been able to expand its scope of work and exert more efforts to relieve those in need.
Ulfah seeks to intensify its activities and expand the reach of its aid by providing heating materials and winter clothing to families residing in camps. To achieve this goal, we call on everyone to stand by Ulfah in this arduous mission; let us be a helping hand and support for these innocent people who are victims of war and displacement, for every amount provided will have a great impact in bringing joy to the hearts of camp children and alleviating the suffering of their families.
